يقع هذا العمل في النِّطاق العامِّ في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكيَّة لأنَّه يستوفي ثلاثة متطلبات:

  1. نُشِر للمرة الأولى خارج الولايات المتحدة، و لم يُنشر فيها في غضون 30 يوماً بعد ذلك.
  2. نُشِر للمرة الأولى قبل 1 مارس 1989م دون إشعار حقوق تأليفٍ ونشر أو قبل عام 1964م دون تجديد حقوق النشر أو قبل قيام دولة المصدر بعمل علاقات حقوق تأليفٍ ونشرٍ مع الولايات المتحدة.
  3. كان في النِّطاق العامِّ في بلد المنشأ (DPRK) في تاريخ إصدار تشريع اتفاقية جولة الأورواغواي (1 يناير 1996 لمعظم البلدان).
